What’s your background?

Bachelor Degree in Communications Science, at Universidad de Celaya, 2004. Specialty on International Media at Universitat de Barcelona, 2004. I started my Master in International Business at Universidad de Celaya in 2005 and currently trying to finish my Black Belt in Continuous Improvement, Lean & six Sigma.

What did you do before blogging?

I co-hosted a morning radio show for 6 years, and I’ve been working on TV as a reporter and producer for the past 6 years. I managed the Spanish side of the business for Gemba Academy LLC, and now managing their content development department.

What are your professional accomplishments?

The CBS Radio morning show I co-hosted received two Marconi awards. My work on TV was also recognized with both Daytime and Lone Star Emmy Awards. And my blog, Rollos De Mujeres, received the 2016 TECLA Award for best lifestyle blog.

What’s your story?

I was born and raised in a small town in Guanajuato, México. My mom took care of me and my two brothers on her own, my dad was always traveling to the USA and forgot about us several times, for several years. We lived in an extremely poorness, but my mom always thought us to be thankful, to work hard, and to stick together as a family. We didn’t have much economically, but we were full of love and hope. We suffered domestic violence for around 20 years.

I always loved school, and I knew education could change my future, and the destiny of my whole family. With many sacrifices, I was able to graduate from Universidad de Celaya with a degree in Communications Science. I also traveled to Barcelona Spain to study International Media at Universitat de Barcelona. After working for a small TV station and for an architect’s law firm in México, I decided to take the biggest risk of my life at the moment and migrate to the USA, looking for my American Dream, and also, to be with my mom, who migrated a couple years before to work hard and send us money to me and my brother to be able to finish college.

I followed my dreams and in December of 2006, with nothing in my pockets, just one backpack and few cloths, I came to Dallas Texas. For several years I had to postpone my career and work in restaurants, doing landscaping, painting houses and more.

In 2009, while pregnant with my first son, after a hard separation and divorce, I got my first opportunity in Radio, starting as a promotion’s girl, then doing the traffic report, and ending as the morning show co-host for CBS Radio in Dallas. This project lasted for over 6 years, and gave us so many blessings like obtaining 2 Marconi Awards. In 2012 one of my best friends, Gaby, introduced me to the blogging world, she even gifted me my first domain and website as my birthday present. Since then I haven’t stop sharing all the stages of my personal and professional live.

I also had started working on TV as a reporter and producer since 2015, my stories helped me to be recognized with a Day Time Emmy and a Lone Star Emmy. I created entertainment stories for Azteca America, and currently I create stories for Telemundo Dallas.

Here, in Rollos de Mujeres you will find great and powerful stories, from motherhood, wellness, style, cooking, professional challenges, tips and guidance, to fun stuff around my life. I hope you enjoy reading my articles, and together we can keep this community growing, helping one woman at the time.

Thank you for taking the time and getting to know more about me. I am so excited to get to share more about Rollos de Mujeres with you.
