BooMont Hotel 2026: New Areas, Mystery, and a Few Scares at Galleria Dallas

I had already visited The BooMont Hotel last year, so when I went back last week, I felt pretty confident. I thought I already knew how it worked, what to expect, and that this time nothing would really surprise me.
Well... I was wrong.
This year, the experience includes new areas, new interactive elements, and enough unexpected moments to make me scream a couple of times. And yes, maybe I am a little more easily scared than I would like to admit, but that is part of the fun of BooMont. You never quite know what is waiting for you behind the next door.
The BooMont Hotel is not a traditional haunted house. You will not find blood, gore, or actors chasing you with a chainsaw. Here, the fear comes more from the atmosphere, the darkness, the sounds, the reflections, and that slightly uncomfortable but fun feeling that something could appear at any moment. It is more of an immersive, mysterious adventure than a traditional haunted house, and that is exactly where its charm comes from. Their tagline sums it up perfectly: “Checking in is easy. Checking out? That’s another story.”
The story behind the experience takes us back to a hotel built in 1901 that was once considered a modern marvel, until a dark secret forced it to close its doors. More than a century later, the hotel has reopened, and guests can now explore its different rooms while uncovering a story filled with mystery. From the moment you check in, you enter a world of elaborate sets, lighting, special effects, interactive spaces, and so many details that constantly make you want to stop, look around, explore, and of course, take pictures.
Since I had already experienced BooMont before, my biggest question was whether it was really worth coming back. For me, the answer is yes.
Among this year’s new additions are Ghoul Pool and the Haunted Mirror Maze, along with the Master Key Scavenger Hunt, which makes the entire experience feel much more interactive. The Haunted Mirror Maze was definitely one of those places where my courage started to fade. A mirror maze can seem pretty harmless until you are surrounded by reflections, lights, and pathways that somehow seem to keep leading you right back to where you started.
That was the moment I decided maybe someone else could walk in front of me.
The Master Key Scavenger Hunt also adds a really fun element to the experience. Instead of simply moving from one room to another, you have to pay attention to clues and small details throughout the hotel. If you are visiting with friends, teenagers, or as a couple, I am pretty sure the competition over who finds things first will start almost immediately.
Now for the big question: Is it really scary?
I would describe it as spooky, yes; extreme terror, no.
It is a great option for people who enjoy Halloween, dark settings, mystery, and a little suspense, but do not want to spend the entire experience running away from actors. I think it is ideal for teenagers, groups of friends, couples looking for a different kind of date night, and families with children who already enjoy a little mystery.
And there is one extra advantage that we truly appreciate here in Texas: the entire experience is indoors.
Another one of my favorite things about BooMont is the photography. Almost every space is designed to make you want to pull out your phone. In addition to the photos and videos you can take yourself, the experience includes three special photo opportunities with built-in cameras and studio lighting. The digital images can be sent directly to your phone, and you also have the option to purchase printed photos.
My recommendation is simple: make sure your phone is fully charged because you are going to want to take a lot of pictures.
The BooMont Hotel is located inside Galleria Dallas at 13350 Dallas Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75240, on Level 3. I would recommend setting aside about an hour so you can enjoy the experience without rushing, take in all the details, complete the scavenger hunt, and make the most of the different photo opportunities.
My verdict after visiting for a second year is that BooMont is not trying to be the scariest experience in DFW, and that is exactly why I like it. It has enough mystery to keep you alert, visually impressive spaces, interactive elements, and just enough surprises to get a scream or two out of you.
I walked in thinking I knew exactly what was going to happen.
I walked out realizing they still had a few tricks up their sleeve.
So if you are looking for something different to do this Halloween season in Dallas-Fort Worth, it might be time to check in at The BooMont Hotel.
