Frisco Is Growing — and So Is the Chamber

By Ana Cruz | Rollos de Mujeres Magazine

This morning, I walked into the Frisco Chamber of Commerce’s New Members Welcome Session feeling excited, curious, and honestly… a little proud. Because yes — I’m officially a new Chamber member.

And then, just hours later, I saw the news: the Frisco Chamber is expanding into a much bigger space and launching brand-new programming for the community.

It felt like a full-circle moment, because what I learned this morning made the press release hit even harder:

This isn’t “just another chamber.”

This is a Chamber that operates at an elite level — and it shows.

A Chamber with 5 Stars? That’s a Big Deal

If you’ve never heard about “5-Star Accreditation,” let me translate it into real life:

It’s like getting the highest ranking possible in the Chamber world.

The Frisco Chamber is recognized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as Accredited with 5 Stars, which is awarded based on excellence in operations, leadership, planning, and community impact.

And here’s the part that surprised me:

Across the country there are nearly 7,000 chambers, but only a small group make it into the top tier.
According to the U.S. Chamber’s own reporting, only 194 chambers are currently Accredited, and about 140 have earned the 5-Star status.

So when we say Frisco is in rare company… we mean it. Muy raro. Muy top.

Breaking News: The Frisco Chamber Is Expanding (Big Time)

On January 14, 2026, the Frisco Chamber announced a major move that will nearly double its available space — meaning more services, more programming, and more support for the business community.

Here’s what’s happening:

The Chamber has purchased 7511 Main Street, Suites 200 & 300, right in the Rail District at The Patios at the Rail.
The new location will feature:

  • Two floors of offices

  • Collaborative work areas

  • Flexible meeting & workshop space

  • A podcast studio (What? Should we record some The Ana Cruz Show episodes there?)

  • Room for new programs and community conversations

Frisco Chamber President & CEO Christal Howard said this new space will allow them to “dream bigger” for their members and the community.

And honestly? That line stuck with me — because that’s exactly what Frisco feels like right now: a city dreaming bigger.

Why This Matters for Regular People in DFW (Not Just Business Owners)

Sometimes Chamber news can feel like it’s “only for executives.” But this expansion affects all of us — especially in a region growing as fast as North Texas.

Because when the Chamber expands, it typically means:

  • More support for small businesses (the places we eat, shop, and love)

  • More leadership development (future community leaders)

  • More events, workshops, and connections

  • More resources for startups (meaning more innovation + more jobs)

In other words:
When small businesses thrive, the whole community wins.

A Huge Move for Entrepreneurs: A Business Accelerator Is Coming

One of the biggest announcements: the Frisco Chamber is preparing to launch a Business Accelerator in the second half of 2026, supported through a performance agreement with the Frisco Economic Development Corporation (EDC).

Translation?
They’re building a stronger pipeline for founders, startups, and early-stage companies to grow — right here in Frisco.

And in a time when so many people are starting side hustles, launching businesses, or reinventing their careers… this is BIG.

The Chamber Has Been Here for Decades — and It’s Staying Downtown

Something I loved learning: the Frisco Chamber has been part of the Rail District for more than 40 years — from the days of a small caboose near the tracks to its current location on Main Street.

And when leadership looked at different options, staying downtown was a priority.

Because Frisco’s story has always been about community roots + future growth.
Tradición + evolución.

What’s Next? Dates to Know

The Chamber expects to relocate by July 2026, after minor renovations. More details will be shared at the Frisco Chamber Annual Awards Gala: February 20, 2026 at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort.

My Takeaway (From a New Member)

Today I left the welcome session feeling something I didn’t expect:

Hopeful.

Because there are organizations that talk about supporting businesses…
…and then there are organizations that actually build the infrastructure to do it.

Frisco is building. The Chamber is expanding. And opportunities are opening up for everyone — whether you’re a business owner, a professional, a creator, a dreamer, or someone thinking:

“Maybe I could start something too.”

So yes… I’m excited to be part of it.

And I can’t wait to see what this new chapter brings.
¡Vamos Frisco!
