Broadway Dallas Announces 2026/2027 Season: Phantom, Harry Potter, The Notebook & More
By Ana Cruz - Rollos de Mujeres Magazine Chief Editor
There are nights when Dallas feels like the main character. The kind of night where you walk into a room and you can feel something big is coming—because it is.
I had the opportunity to attend an exclusive Broadway Dallas season announcement event, where we officially got the first look at what’s coming for 2026/2027… and let me tell you: this season has something for everyone. It’s bold, emotional, funny, glamorous, powerful—and designed to remind us why live theatre is still one of the most unforgettable experiences you can have.
Why We Need Live Theatre (Now More Than Ever)
Theatre is one of the few places left where we’re fully present.
No scrolling. No distractions. No “I’ll watch it later.”
Just you, a room full of people, and a story unfolding right in front of your eyes—breathing, singing, moving, breaking your heart open and putting it back together again.
Live theatre can make you laugh until your face hurts.
It can heal you in ways you didn’t expect.
It can remind you that you’re not alone.
And when you support Broadway Dallas, you’re not just buying a ticket—you’re supporting artists, storytelling, education programs, and the cultural heartbeat of North Texas.
Porque sí… el arte es entretenimiento.
Pero también es comunidad. Es esperanza. Es vida.
A Special Moment: Interviewing David Young Fernandez
During the evening, I also had the chance to interview David Young Fernandez (Hairdresser, u/s The Phantom)—a talented performer and Texas native whose career is built on passion, discipline, and heart.
David is originally from Houston, Texas, proudly Cuban-American and his Broadway National Tour credits include Les Misérables (Enjolras u/s) and Fiddler on the Roof (Swing). He’s also a proud DePauw University alum, and he carries deep gratitude for the teachers and people who supported him along the way.
His journey is a reminder that live theatre isn’t just magic—it’s hard work, talent, sacrifice, and dreams in motion.
Interview coming soon!
