[PODCAST] They took away my salary but they didn't take away my talent and passion - Rebecca Aguilar

Rebecca Aguilar is a 7x Emmy winner bilingual journalist, founder of Calling All Journalists Initiative and Latinas in Journalism. Rebecca is the first latina and women of color President of SPJ, she was inducted in the NAHJ Hall of Fame and is one of the most honest, professionals I know in the industry.

I can write three pages of all the amazing things Rebecca has accomplished, but I am just going to mention some of them:

  • 40 years in journalism

  • Freelancer on all-platforms

  • 28 years in TV News

  • 50 awards and nominations in journalism

  • Public Speaker

  • Social Media Expert

And more…

In this episode, Rebecca will inspire you with both her personal and professional life, from how the example of her undocumented immigrant parents who became leaders in civil rights taught her to be honest, represent the voices of those who are unheard, and tell stories that have impacted our community to what she learned after being fired from FOX 4 News in Dallas, and how her passion, talents, and network  are her better assets.

Listen to this episode with one of the women I admire most in the journalism industry. Thank you, Rebecca, for being our guest and lead the way for many women and journalists.
