When Life Changes Overnight: Gaby Natale on Cancer, Menopause, and Purpose
By Ana Cruz - Founder and Chief Editor
This week on The Ana Cruz Show, I sit down with my dear friend Gaby Natale—three-time Daytime Emmy Award–winning journalist, keynote speaker, bestselling author, and an unbreakable pioneer whose story is as powerful as it is transformative. In December 2023, I had the honor of officiating Gaby’s wedding in Argentina, a day she describes as one of the happiest of her life. Just two months later, everything changed when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. In this deeply moving episode, Gaby opens her heart to share how her life shifted overnight and how the fast pace of daily life often distracts us from what truly matters.
Gaby takes us through her journey with honesty and courage—from chemotherapy and surgery to the emotional toll of treatment and the reality of medically induced menopause. She speaks candidly about the pain, fear, uncertainty, and identity shifts that came with her diagnosis, experiences that many women face silently. Her story is a powerful reminder that illness doesn’t just affect the body—it challenges our sense of self, priorities, and the way we experience time, love, and purpose.
Out of that pain, Gaby found a greater calling. Today, she is an official spokesperson for Susan G. Komen, a nonprofit organization providing education, resources, and support to women affected by breast cancer. After navigating menopause herself, she also recognized the urgent need for a real, bilingual space to talk about this stage of life without taboo or superficiality—leading her to create Menopausia.com.
Through her work, Gaby reminds women that menopause is not the end, but often the most powerful and fulfilling chapter of their lives.
